We now have a public 1.2 pre-release server open for the public! The latest snapshot came today rather than the scheduled thursday and in this update this is what is included:
To get the client version download the jar file here and install it.
On windows: Start>Run>%appdata%>Roaming>.minecraft>bin and add the file to there.
On Mac: I forgot? A mac user would be much appreciated!
And the IP for the server is: 188.8.131.52:25652

It was worth the wait, we finally have been able to enable the creative world again.
It took so long because the required plugin had a few exploids and a nasty wipe-enchantments bug, those have been fixed!
You can visit the Creative world by hopping on the Sisyphus, the ship that is docked in the harbor. Stand on the Telepad and off you go!
Note, the weather systems have changed over the course of several MC updates, it might be that the biomes are slightly messed up in the Creative world, if you guys want we could copy our works to a new, clean creative world.

As we are you sure you all know allready MC 1.2 will come with a few significant changes, including a new jungle biome and jungle specific mobs.
We tried to make the 1.0 map a permanent map, to build some great monuments, but then a select group of players truned it into a mess.
Our current map is corrupt.
The past few months we temp-banned two players for xraying, apparently this was not enough a warning, and we had to perm-ban another 3(!!!) regular players (Curliefries, dum_bum, and koop) for xraying.
Therefore we decided that 1.2 would be a good oppertunity to start anew. The spawn envirionment will be copied over, but all chests and items wil be deleted (including valuable blocks).
Since some players have proven that given trust will be betrayed :(, we will install heavier security measures as well.
Note that from the 1.2 update on connecting to EonCraft with a modded client may result in a game crashes due to the increased security.
We HIGHLY recommand using only vanilla clients or the SpoutCraft client (the latter also adds extra cool features on our server!).

Hi all, for those interested in our update progress, here it is:
As you can see, we are working on it, but we will only update Eoncraft when we can without breaking our core systems.
Keeping EonCraft 1.0 online: server is now offline for updating

The server is back up. Unfortunately because of the crash we lost the last ~10 minutes of our work.

Lead developer of minecraft Jeb released 1.1 today, snapshots (development versions) have been released every week so if you were playing on them you should have a clue about what features were being included a list of them can be found here. Ofcourse for any update our server must wait awhile until all our plugins and our server software has been updated before we do. So our server will continue to run on 1.0 until we give the go ahead.
We will NOT be having a new map even tho there is new terrain generation but nothing too significant

The server is now officially updated (finally!), you can connect to it on the IP in the above post, We have realesed it to the public in time for Christmas :). Even tho it is updated there are still a few things left to do:

We almost finished the server update (boy was that a puzzle). We are preparing to remove the staff-only whitelist Thursday evening!
Important notice: because this is supposed to be the LAST map whipe for a very long time we didn't want any artifacts of pre-1.0 civilizations, therefor we decided to NOT transfer items from our 1.8 world.
We realize this will disappoint many who have haorded stuff in the last few weeks, but we feel this is for the best.

Greetings members of EonCraft!
Recently you guys have favoured the temporary 1.0 server over the 1.8 one that's not a problem! Us owners need a place to safely update plugins, get a new world and setup access to the old 1.8 world so now we have taken over the 1.8 server to update, it is now only available to staff mebers to be our lab rats! Feel free to play on the 1.0 server bearing in mind it is for temporary use only and until we safely update the regular server! Don't worry we have all your items off the 1.8 server stored....somewhere. So until then stay active on here and the 1.0 server!

I'll edit this post to keep you all up to date on the server update progress.
We are running offline test servers as of now, you will be notified when the Main server goes offline for the true update!
We COULD finally update the server, because there now is a Recommended Build of the server mod we use (to make plugins work).
Unfortunately, a lot of pluigns have NOT been updated yet, and therefore we can NOT update with our full funcitonality intact.
If we were to update now, we would LOSE:
- Secret anti-griefing measures
- Creative world
- All money related functions (money, shops, mob-bounties, can't buy protection-sponges)
- Chest protection (its updated but still in test phase)
- Factions (if we had this, we could update since it also provides basic chest protection)
- Telepads (only needed for creative<->survival transport)
- Movable bridges and gates
