MC 1.3 will have Editable Books!

Hi all, I don't know if you guys keep up with MC news and development, we as server owners sure do.

The latest MC development snapshot (they release those every week) reveals (besides LOADS of bug fixes) that MC 1.3 will finally have vanilla support for editing books.

As of now, I (Ortwin) have no idea how this is going to work (hopefully requiring a feather and inc-sacks, maybe ink in a glass bottle?), but we will be looking for a way to convert all the books we have written into the new format. 

Other additions/fixes include multi-wood-color slabs (finally), and they now actually act as wood (in stead of stone).

If you want to try it out, you can download the development .jar from www.mojang.com, if you do not know what to do with this .jar it proves you should not be messing with it.

(please note that you will not be able to connect to the server if you use this dev version, keep backups)


Ok, this is how it works in the snapshot release:

Crafting a book will now require a piece of leather.

If you want to write a book you need to combine it with a feather and an inc sack

It is unknown if you can place written books in a shelve.

All the ingredients are renewable, that means there is a new market for leather, feathers and inc! (why do chickens only drop 1 feather???)

Another note: Know that MC 1.3 is still VERY far away, we'll be using 1.2.5 for several months, the above changes are only fraction of the changes 1.3 will bring.

Hello all,

I (vvmattozzvv) have been having trouble with addding the 1.1 spawn into the new map, I have been trying hard but can't seem to get it 'right'...I understand all of your frustration so I have launched the new map! You spawn on the mountain range that will have spawn added to it. No one can build here or nearby and mobs can't spawn, just make your way out of spawn and there you can build. Hopefully it will be done in the next few days.

1.2.4 Progress Update!

Hello everyone,

This morning I (vvmattozzvv) updated the majority of our plugins to 1.2.4 and now the server is running on that version, however a few more things are needed to be done.

To do:


  • We need a MySQL databse (For LogBlock) Velox are taking a while in giving us the details....  edit: DONE (check the ticket Matt :))
  • The new map and a plan for spawn.
  • A few not very important plugins.
  • More role-play aspects.

Hopefully this will be done soon.


Creative World is BACK!

Hi everyone!

It was worth the wait, we finally have been able to enable the creative world again.

It took so long because the required plugin had a few exploids and a nasty wipe-enchantments bug, those have been fixed!

You can visit the Creative world by hopping on the Sisyphus, the ship that is docked in the harbor. Stand on the Telepad and off you go!

Note, the weather systems have changed over the course of several MC updates, it might be that the biomes are slightly messed up in the Creative world, if you guys want we could copy our works to a new, clean creative world.

Server Update Progress

Hi all!

I'll edit this post to keep you all up to date on the server update progress.

We are running offline test servers as of now, you will be notified when the Main server goes offline for the true update!

We COULD finally update the server, because there now is a Recommended Build of the server mod we use (to make plugins work).

Unfortunately, a lot of pluigns have NOT been updated yet, and therefore we can NOT update with our full funcitonality intact.

If we were to update now, we would LOSE: 

- Secret anti-griefing measures

- Creative world

- All money related functions (money, shops, mob-bounties, can't buy protection-sponges)

- Chest protection (its updated but still in test phase)

- Factions (if we had this, we could update since it also provides basic chest protection)

- Books

- Telepads (only needed for creative<->survival transport)

- Movable bridges and gates
